"Hendrix is a model for the unconventional in creative art, and for this reason he is one of the artistic progenitors of guitarist Nguyên Lê. After a decade of projects involving his own trio, his Vietnamese roots and world music, he takes a look at the music of Hendrix from the perspective of jazz" - Jazzwise
Jimi Hendrix, the pop icon lives again - one of the most creative musicians on the threshold between rock and jazz! Join us at THE MOSAIC CLUB as Nguyên Lê pays a unique tribute to one of history's greatest guitarist, playing his compositions with the same freedom and dedication. For Lê, every note of Hendrix's music is on fire, everything he played sounded like he was playing for the last time. And it is exactly this direct, urgent emotion that grabbed Nguyên Lê's interest from the start.
All of Lê's albums have attained critical acclaim, not least the widely regarded Celebrating Jimi Hendrix, from which several numbers will be featured at this concert such as Purple Haze, Voodoo Child and Third Stone in the Sun.
Lê will also collaborate with multi-talented local singer/choreographer/composer Gani Karim as special guest alongside his musicians - Cathy Renoir on vocal, Etienne Mbappe on bass and Francis Lassus on drums.
