Emerging from two regions rich in musical tradition come two profound pianists
playing improvisational jazz at its finest.
Madhav Chari has worked with celebrated names in the international arena
like Max Roach, Lester Bowie and David Murray. Leaving his mathematics PhD
programme to become a fulltime jazz musician proved to be a "well-calculated
decision" as he has emanated to be one of India's greatest jazz pianist-composers. Ted
Lo, one of Hong Kong’s finest jazz pianists, has performed with Herbie
Hancock, Al Cooper and the Ron Carter Quartet, among other greats.
Both Chari and Lo developed and advanced careers as pianists in New York,
working with some of the best in jazz along the way. In this exciting performance,
the two artists' unique worldviews - encompassing a unique blend of cultural
and musical influences - come together and connect in jazz.
