From playing jazz standards as the popular Black Machine in the early 2000s, GruvAvenue has grown into a contemporary jazz band that performs its own jazz-soul-R&B-dance-pop-fusion originals with a smooth mix of sax, drums, keys, electronics, vocals and the occasional rap.

He's performed for Jacky Cheung's 2002 world tour, backed artists such as Emil Chow, Francis Yip, Siti Nurhaliza and Jeff Chang, performed in 1999's Chang & Eng the musical, been musical director for Coco Lee, composed and recorded children's songs, arranged and produced music for TCS TV shows and more. Welcome jazz-pop pianist Indra, heading Trio Indra, accompanied on the bass and drums.

At a mere 16 years of age, jazz saxophonist Jake Barden from Queensland, Australia, is already hailed as one of Australia's best young musicians. Jake has already performed throughout Australia, Europe and other parts of the world, and played at one of the world's finest jazz festivals, the 2008 Montreux Jazz Festival in Switzerland.

Norman Seck Trio

Norman Seck is a recent alumnus from the prestigious Berklee College of Music based in Boston, USA. He is the recipient of the National Arts Council Overseas Arts Bursary, as well as the Berklee - Achievement Based Scholarship. Norman has led and arranged for two different jazz groups during his time at Berklee and has extensive performance experience in solo, duo and trio settings. He will be joined by prominent musicians in the scene, Colin Yong on bass and Tan Boon Gee on drums.

Mezz is comin' out of the blues through west coast cool, back over to east coast classic bop with understated music that grooves, swings and swaggers. Mezz Mezzrow - made up of Tim O'Dwyer (vocals & saxes), Andrew Lim (guitar), Tony Makarome (double bass) and Darren Moore (drums) - plays jazz that takes you into the smoky lounge bars and dark back alleys of the 50s and 60s with stories about hustlers, hipsters, fools, jivemeisters and plain Joes.
