Ling & The Kings

After impressing crowds with her emotive voice at open-mic nights, Ling Kai decided to record a song and put up the video performance on YouTube in 2007. Little did she expect her song to be featured on the site’s homepage, reaping more than one million views! Having performed extensively in Singapore and Australia, she has been working with her band, Ling and the Kings, on a new album slated for 2011.

Cove Red

Rachael and Suyin (collectively known as Cove Red) are inspired by the likes of Sara Groves, Jónsi (Sigur Rós) and Imogen Heap. Aside from performing at diverse local venues, they have also opened the Singapore gigs of Copeland and Villagers. Their honest and melodious originals aim to find common ground with listeners, in the hope of healing wounds and restoring dreams.

The Trees & The Wild

Consisting of Remedy Waloni (a vocalist oft-compared with John Mayer), Andra Kurniawan and Iga Massardi, this band offers acoustic compositions that have enjoyed radio airplay as far as Germany and the Netherlands. On their debut album, Rasuk (2009), you can expect songs inspired by a Michel Gondry film and the mountains on Sulawesi. Enjoy this band’s series of stories that keep on moving, filled with self-introspection and a longing for time elapsed.
