Mosaic Music Makers: Parent-Child Workshop – Fun with Tubulum
by Serene Tan
2 Mar, Sat, 10am & 11.30am
Esplanade Rehearsal Studio

Recommended for children 4-6 years oldCreated and popularised by renowned comedy trio Blue Man Group, a tubulum is a percussive instrument made out of PVC pipes resembling a xylophone or vibraphone. It is struck at the open end using a flat padded surface and produces a bassy melodic tone. When different lengths are placed together, it becomes a pitched instrument.
Through visual aids and a series of percussive style musical games, physical activities and popular songs, this workshop will impart music concepts such as canons, rhythmic skills, pitch differentiation, call and answer, as well as playing as an ensemble. Parents and their children can have fun making music together while learning.
