"...Phrases
that haunt as long as her opulent tunes echo in the head." -
Times Online
Her music has gotten
rave reviews of late with descriptions such as “scintillating...[with]
fresh melodic ideas and crafty narrative twists" (The Guardian)
and “great songs, great playing, great vocals and a great presence” (Get
Ready to Rock!). She is Nerina Pallot and if you haven’t
heard of her yet, you soon will!
A singer-songwriter in the style of Sheryl Crow, Carole King, Tori
Amos and Joni Mitchell, Nerina plays a fresh blend of folk-rock that merges
her classical music training with her love of folk, country and rock music.
Nerina alternates between the piano and guitar, occasionally accompanied
by lush instrumentation, and sings with versatile vocals, delivering music
that is, at times, measured and soulful, at other times, endearing and up-tempo.
She has released two albums, debut Dear Frustrated Superstar (2001)
and Fires (2005), featuring her original compositions (a couple
of which have climbed up UK’s music charts), produced and mixed by
Howard Willing (who has also worked with Stevie Nicks and The Smashing
Pumpkins). Nerina
has opened for Sheryl Crow, James Blunt, Suzanne Vage, Joseph Arthur
and more, and has received much acclaim for her recordings and live performances.
